PICTURES FOR DONALD, 2018
The exhibition “Pictures for Donald” was a cooperation between the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig and the class for Prof. Juergen Teller from Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg. The subject of the project was the image of the human being in photography.
The project dealt with the questions: What role does the photographic image of man play in contemporary society? To what extent do (self-)stagings via Instagram, Facebook create a circulation of images which influence the examination of the portrait as a traditional genre of visual art? The exhibition showed over three hundred photographs taken during a field trip in Libken. For the communication media we decided to work without photography, instead worked with graphic translation of “the moment of seeing each other”.
